Canberra Business Council would like to congratulate Brand Hoff, Chair of Canberra Business Council, for winning the Pearcey Medal at last weeks iAwards night. In memory of Australia’s great ICT pioneer Dr Trevor Pearcey, one Australian each year is honoured with the Pearcey Medal. The medal is awarded for "outstanding lifetime achievement and contribution to the development and growth of the IT professions, research and industry". The Pearcey Medal criteria are “distinguished lifetime achievement and contribution to the development and growth of the Information Technology professions, research, and industry”. That is, a person who, like Trevor Pearcey, has by hard work, intelligence, and dedication, made a major and continuing contribution to Australia's and the world's IT industry and research and gives us a further example of what Australian's can and have achieved in this industry.

The Council would also like to congratulate all other ACT businesses who also recieved awards on the night.
